Flying Dog Firkin! Wednesday, August 29th at 5pm.

We are teaming up with those fine folks at Flying Dog to bring you a cask of one of their latest creations, a single hop imperial IPA made entirely with Chinook hops. This 10% abv monster is crazy hoppy and delicious and is sure to impress you on cask. It definitely impressed us. And as you can see, it’s getting  rave reviews.

We’re certain that the Flying Dog crew will be giving away some good lookin’ swag  and we might throw some gift cards in the mix to raffle off. We will be offering $5 pours all night long and it’s going to be damn delicious.  So call your friends, call a cab, and find your way to Punk’s on the 29th. Festivities kick off at 5pm and go until you prove your worth and kill the firkin.

Big D Pint Night

On Thursday, January 26th we’ll be hosting a Big D pint night at Punk’s! We’ll be pouring lots of Big D (which is a huge fan favorite here), giving out glassware and maybe even throwing in some cool prizes.

In case you haven’t had the Big D, it is a collaboration beer between Oliver Ales in Baltimore and Dawson’s Liquors in Severna Park.  It’s a killer 8.5% IPA that has orange peel, lemon peel and orange blossom honey in the boil.  Really nice citrus notes, really nice bitterness and super drinkable.

It’s going to be fun, you don’t want to miss it!

Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA Tapping!

Well, Maryland, you want it and we’ve got it. We’re tapping a keg of Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA (it’s got some good company in that photo above) on Saturday, December 17th at 4pm! It’s the beer you saw on that Brewmasters Show, the one that sells for a pretty penny on Ebay and made Sam famous. Our keg is fresh (packaged in late October 2011) and ready for consumption.

The tapping commences at 4pm and we’ll be pouring it until it’s gone. We think it’ll go fast. Don’t say we didn’t warn ya.

Cask Punk, Batch 2!

Draft Punk was such a success that we went ahead and brewed another version (when I say we, I mean Steve up there at Oliver Ales in Baltimore). Steve tweaked the recipe a little bit for this one to make it even more delicious, so there will be some slight differences between the two versions.

To kick it off, we’ll be tapping a pin cask, dry hopped with Citra hops. It’s a little cask, so we won’t have that much to go around. I’m certain it will be in and out in one evening, as the last time it only took two hours to kick a full cask.

We’ll be tapping the cask on Tuesday, July 19th at 4pm and you can snag a pint for $3 during happy hour, until 6pm.  Then it’ll be back to the normal price, if its still around.  You don’t get casks in Annapolis too often, so get down here and check it out!

To recap…

What: A pin cask of Draft Punk, batch 2!

When: Tuesday, July 19th at 4:00pm

Where: Punk’s Backyard Grill, 2188 Annapolis Mall, Annapolis, MD

Who: You? And lots of other cool peopl

Grills, beers, ribs, hop filters and the 4th of July

We’re celebrating Independence Day with a cookout.  Shocking, I know.  But here’s the thing.  In addition to serving the regular menu, our Grillmasters will be cooking Corn on the Cob and Chef Dean Maupin’s Dry Rubbed Ribs on our outdoor grill on the patio.  So you’ll have a grill firing inside, a grill firing outside, and grillmasters everywhere you look!

Grilling burgers and chicken

Corn on the Cob will be grilled in the husk, and served with honey butter. Chef Dean’s Ribs are dry rubbed then slow roasted and finished on the grill with Punk’s sweet and tangy Barbecue Sauce. And you can enjoy half a rack of ribs with cornbread, corn on the cob, and a small side of your choice on the Dry Rubbed Ribs Plate  for a mere $18.99.

But wait, there’s more! We’re making our lovely craft beer selection another highlight of the celebration. A keg of our house brew, Draft Punk, will be hooked up to our hop filter on Sunday and Monday. We’ll be filtering it through whole leaf Cascade and Citra hops for added hoppy goodness all day.

The festivities will take place on Sunday, July 3rd and Monday, July 4th during regular restaurant hours: 11:00am – 9:00pm. So no matter what day you’re grilling, you can find some time to let us do the work for you.  See you this weekend!
