As many of you know, construction at the site started early last week after what seemed like an unending process to secure our final building permit. Well once we had the permit in hand, BGC didn’t waste any time getting right to work.
Above is the “before” picture taken a few months ago, and below are the pictures from Friday the 10th. It’s early in the construction process, but you can still see the progress in the floor and ceiling. The PVC pipes poking through the ground are future drains and access points to our plumbing — not, I’m told, air holes for our secret underground bunker.
The picture above and the “before” picture are taken from the dining area looking toward the kitchen. The picture below is taken from the kitchen end looking toward the dining area — the entry vestibule will be on the right.
Now that the plumbing is in, the contractors are preparing to pour the concrete floor. We’re looking forward to having a roller rink for a few days, and we’ll be sure to take some pictures.
